I need help with decorating my bedroom?

I'm redecorating, I think I want the main colors to be blue and white. I have cherry furniture, and a daybed. I want kind of a beach theme, I live in Florida. Right now the walls are blue and green, I want to repaint them white or a shade of blue. I definitely want a White Bedspread, possibly with another color blanket. Any more ideas? I need to do this really cheap.

I saw a picture in a magazine of a room painted Top White and bottom half a dark blue. The comforter was white with white and blue striped pillows.
