Handmade Cotton Quilted

Handmade Cotton Quilted
What's the best way to hang an Amish quilt?

I have an Amish cotton Handmade Quilt that I want to hang over my bed. It's approximatley 6 feet wide by 5 feet down, and not too awfully heavy. Kind of like a light bedspread weight. What's the best way? I want to keep it as simple as possible, and know hardly anything about decoration. Thanks for your time.

Check the back - it may already have a hanging sleeve sewn on. If so, use any type of decorative curtain rod. If there isn't a hanging sleeve, you could try sewing one on yourself. It's just a piece of fabric about 3" - 4" wide about 2" from the top edge of the quilt.

If you'd rather not sew anything to the quilt, you can buy quilt hangers. There are several different styles, and they come in a range of prices. There are small ones (a couple of inches, usually about $6 a piece) that you space out along the wall. You may need three or four for a quilt that size. There are longer decorative ones that are a but more expensive.
