are 3 kids happy together or is one left out?

are all children equals? my husband wants a third baby but i want to wait. so are all kids happy to play together or do they leave others out sometimes?

3 is usually a bad number for playmates of the same age. I think 2 always tend to pair up and leave the 3rd out.

But for siblings of different ages, it is hard to say. I have 3 but the oldest 2 are girls and the youngest is a boy so the 2 girls naturally gravitate together. Not sure what would have happened with 3 girls or if the boy was in the middle.

My sister has 3 boys. The eldest 2 are only about 18 months apart and the youngest is a couple years so her oldest 2 tended to do things together simply because the 3rd was so little. But as time went on the oldest and youngest seemed more compatible together and the middle seemed to find other friends.

And truly, nothing guarantees they will play together at all. My husband and his brother are a mere 12 months and 2 days apart and fought their entire childhood. Never played together much and had separate friends. Still don't really talk much other than at holidays.
