What does "drive train coolant system fault" mean with Engine check light is on?
Have a 2001 Buick Lesabre. The check engine light is on. Called OnStar for help. They said the problem is "Drive Train coolant system fault", must be checked within 7 days. The coolant levels are fine. The coolant temperatures are within normal ranges, no alerts being given. What could this problem be? Am I looking at a new water pump?
Sounds like a typical code fault that may be a fluke . I'd just unhook your battery for about a minute or two. This should reset the code and turn the check engine light off. If it was just a fluke message then it'll stay off, but should return after about 10 starts if there is a problem with the car. This is always the best place to start. Unhook the poss. and the neg. cables.
