Most people consider a Queen Size bed to be a sufficient enough space for two people to sleep on. There is enough room for both to have their own "space" and not be crowded. Queen sized beds generally have enough dimension and is most likely the reason for their popularity. One of the biggest mistakes of all times is when a couple buys a bed and didn't take dimensions into consideration. Many squeeze into a Full Size Bed and end up miserable after a short period of time.

Focusing on a Queen Size bed for now, Queen Size bed dimensions are six inches wider and five inches longer than a Full Size Bed, which makes them about 60x80. Queen size beds generally fit very well in some guest rooms and for small to mid size master bedrooms. While the Queen Size Bed is big enough for two it is exceptional for one person who likes plenty of sprawling room. Consider if the Queen Size Bed in 60 inches wide, that gives each person 30 inches of sleep space. A standard Twin Bed is 38 inches wide so factor that it when deciding on a Queen Size Bed because one person will get about 8 inches less of sleep space then they would on a Twin Size Bed.

There are pros and cons in buying a queen size bed. One pro is if two people are going to sleep on it, it gives them more room than a double bed, plus there's 5 inches of extra length involved. And the queen size sheets and blankets are easy to find and very affordable compared to King Size sheets. Cons include because there is only 30 inches of personal space per sleeper in a queen size bed, over time it just might not be roomy enough for two. Also, do not be fooled by beds that are called full/queen because you will have a very difficult time buying sheets for that size bed.

There is a larger version of the queen size bed; it is referred to as the Olympic Queen. The problem with this bed is again, sheets are difficult to find so you may have to buy King Size sheets and alter them to fit. Simmons carries the Olympic Queen as a novelty size which is 66x80. Many people do consider that to be the perfect choice in queen size bed dimensions.
